12 in 10 with 8 and a 30+

Posted: July 20, 2011 by Hellcat in Fish Reports, Gear Fishing, Salmon, Trout & Steelhead

What the heck do all those numbers in the title of this post actually mean? Here you go:

12 salmon and steelhead hooked in 10 hours of Big River angling with Capt. DD.

8 of those fish were put to the boat….many in dramatic fashion.

A 30 plus pound chrome bright summer chinook among the boated fish (hatchery fish released due to season restrictions)

Hang on……catch your breath…..here’s some more numbers for you to chew on:

Of the entire section of river we fished that was peppered with other sleds full of anglers this is how many fish we saw hooked: Two.

The number of chinook we boated: 3.

The number of steelhead boated: 5.

Biggest steelhead boated: 14#.

The approximate pound total of those three released kings: 65 (35#, 25#, 5#)

How much total footage we captured throughout the entire day: 50 minutes of fish battles.

Number of photos taken: 102.

Numbers of videos shot: 33.

Number of lures lost: 1.

Pound test of Tuff Line snapped on fish: 65.

Level of gratefullness for such a day: Incalculable.

Stay tuned to this website for pictures, movies and more from this incredibly epic day of Big River salmon and steelhead angling with Todd Peterson (DD), Matthew Stuart (MME), Dave Heller (Sal Monid) and myself (Christopher Heller aka H3llcat). Can’t forget the best fishing dog ever either, Jake.

It was one of those days with perfect weather and being at the right place at the right time with the right folks and using the right gear. Definitely one of those glory days to remember and hang on to the next time we are out there in the rain and lucky to get one pull down. Thanks to Captain Todd. Sal

Hey BT, we were missing you out there yesterday. Been way too long since we wet a line together. I am doing my best to get back to basics with everything in life. You fit right into that my friend. Thanks for always being the real deal.
